T.I. – ‘Got Your Back’ (feat. Keri Hilson) (muzik video)

The video for T.I.’s new single, “Got Your Back” from his soon to be released 7th Album “King Uncaged” (9/28) premiered recently. Check its fate below:

Loving the age old concept of the “ryde or die” chick in this video. Definitely an ode to his ol’ lady Tameka “Tiny” Cottle. The song is kinda hot too.

Christina Aguilera – ‘You Lost Me’ (Muzik Video)

Christina Aguilera’s second single from her “Bionic” album, “You Lost Me” has received the video treatment and premiered on MTV recently. Check out the video below:

While I am still in cahoots about why her label didn’t continue to push “Woohoo” (featuring Nicki Minaj) as the second single, I am glad they went with this song as the single replacement. As for the video, this is just not gonna cut it. Honestly, I found myself yawning by the end of it. However, I do smell Grammy Awards for her vocal performance on this track. It just has that Grammy feel to it and her vocals soar as always.

NEW MUZIK TUESDAY (JULY 20)

Today’s muzik tuesday sees a legendary rocker tap into her soulful desires and a boss continue channel his inner John Gotti musically!
Sheryl Crow returns with her seventh studio album (11th overall), 100 Miles from Memphis. Her last album, Detours, was released in 2008. For this new record, she has been cited as tapping into a more soulful direction. I am definitely looking forward to this new album from Sheryl as I thoroughly enjoyed her Wildflower album. As far as this record is concerned, one of the standout tracks is definitely her Terrance Trent D’Arby remake, “Sign Your Name” featuring background vocals from Mr. N’Sync himself, Justin Timberlake.

The boss, Rick Ross is back with his 4th album, Teflon Don, the follow-up to the critically acclaimed Deeper Than Rap LP. The official first single, “Super High” featuring R&B crooner, Ne-Yo currently sits at #32 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. As a long-time Rick Ross fan, this is one that I am definitely checking for. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed all of his efforts. Nothing more to say.

Wynter Gordon – ‘Dirty Talk’ (Music Video)

Queens native Wynter Gordon has finally released the video for her debut Atlantic Records release, “Dirty Talk”. After making a name for herself within the industry by penning songs for Jennifer Lopez and Danity Kane, she is finally coming to the forefront. Check out her debut video below.

Not a big fan of the video, but the song is madd catchy! This song always manages to find its way to my speakers when my iPod is on shuffle. I thoroughly enjoyed her song “Toyfriend” on the David Guetta “One Love” album and I am definitely feeling this track. I am definitely looking forward to her album, With the Music I Die, which is slated for release this summer.

Robyn – ‘Dancing On my Own’ (Music Video)

Some of you may remember Robyn from 1997, when she had her last State-side smash, Show Me Love (that was a looooong time ago). She is gearing up for the worldwide release of 3 albums in 2010, the first called Body Talk, Pt. 1., slated for release here in the United States on June 15th. The current single from that project is Dancing on My Own. Check out the vid below:

Why I love this, I don’t know, but I do! I’ve always thought that Robyn had a great voice and great material to go with it. The video had me glued to my computer. It reminds me of retro MTV for some odd reason. I still bump songs from her first album to this day. If you can’t put your finger on who Robyn is, you may remember this MTV hit from back in the day below:

Rest in Peace to a PIONEER!

I know I am madd late, but better late than never right! Especially when it comes to the death of a GREAT! On Sunday, the incomparable Lena Horne passed away at the age of 92. As most people were, I was very shocked to learn of her passing. She lived a life full of accomplishments, while blazing the trail for the Whitney’s, Janet’s and Beyonce’s to do what they do now. My earliest memory of Ms. Horne was her portrayal of Glenda the Goodwich in one of the best black movie musicals ever, The Wiz. Other memories of  Lena Horne that stand out for me are her appearances on The Cosby Show and A Different World. She was definitely a REGAL  and LEGENDARY individual, who will be forever missed. #RIPLenaHorne.
